Program Details

The Sun Life Information Technology Rotational Program, under the Rotational Leadership Development Program (RLDP) umbrella, provides a unique opportunity to gain specialized experience in an accelerated leadership development program. Through a series of job rotations, you will gain critical technical and business skills, gain a deep understanding of information security and the financial services industry, use the latest technology and practices in growing fields, and gain a broad understanding of Sun Life's products, clients and business strategy.

Information Security

Cyber-security is the number one risk that many companies, governments and individuals face on a daily basis. Cyber Attacker are constantly trying to find new ways to gain access to or disrupt corporate services. Our Information Security teams are on constant lookout for new techniques, tools and processes to protect against cyber threats. We need intelligent, ambitious, risk-conscious and collaborative employees, with different skills and abilities, to fulfill security roles such as solution engineering, forensic investigations, incident management, business advisory services, and the development of corporate awareness campaigns. Our environment is fast-paced and challenging. Our security teams are constantly solving new problems; no two days are the same.

Career Development

The accelerated nature of this program provides individuals with early leadership opportunities and interaction with the IT Executive Team and other senior leaders in the company. Upon completion of the two-year program, we expect your next role in the organization to be in your area of specialization, however, this will depend on your career aspirations, the needs of the organization and your standing over the duration of the program.

Competencies

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science or business undergraduate program, with expected completion by September 2019
  • A passion for learning, taking initiative, and working collaboratively across various teams and cultures to achieve results
  • A demonstrated interest in cyber security
  • Solid understanding of one or more computing and software technology concepts (operating system support; network connectivity and design; software development and programming)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a drive to succeed
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Balanced experiences in academics and extra-curricular activities
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
