Rogers Co-op Program Description

Business Unit:
We are currently accepting applications for summer students to support various areas within our Network Technology, Strategy & Architecture team. In this role you will act as the single point of contact for defects assigned on status calls, chat rooms and release level meetings, provide defect triage for specific applications based on project/program flows to confirm proper ownership of defects and Confirm proper defect closure. What you will do…

Act as the single point of contact for defects assigned on status calls, chat rooms and release level meetings

Provide defect triage for specific applications based on project/program flows to confirm proper ownership of defects

Confirm proper defect closure
-
Escalate on defect support and fixes
-
Generate daily executive status reports
-
Drive daily Defects status calls
-
Follow up and manage the timeliness of the defect fix and report when the fix is installed in the appropriate environment

Conduct the initial review of xml’s, logs, tables, design documents, and screen shots to correctly determine defect ownership (confirm proper defect recording)

Validate defect and search existing defects to identify duplicate defects

Work with application developers to investigate issues and facilitate quick resolution

Provide production defect investigation, due diligence actions and analysis

Determine root cause, work with the test team to determine key learning's, corrective actions

Provide defect tracking to determine trends, produce standard reports and comparisons amongst applications, technologies

Build and track corrective action plans with assistance of Quality Lead

Assist with defect and test case audits

Drive closure of Business Validation.
What you will bring

Working towards a bachelor's degree in computer science or business analyst,
-
Background in technology and/or business strategy
-
Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office applications

Eagerness and ability to quickly learn new systems and tools functionality and navigation

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines

Attention to detail, in particular as it relates to compliance and accuracy of data

Ability to adapt to changing environment

Self-starter and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and demonstrate urgency

Must understand where relevant data is stored, be able to retrieve that data, and be able to compile that data into a user friendly format

Must be able to analyze various data sources and identify gaps or errors therein
