The Responsible Gambling Council is one of the world’s leading experts in problem gambling prevention. The Council operates PlaySmart Centres located in gaming facilities throughout the province. The Centres provides on-site information about safer play and many other topics about responsible gambling.
The Council is seeking one (1) casual Program Representative to assist at educational events in the Central Region based out of Casino Woodbine. As some events will take place at satellite locations within Ontario, some overnight travel may be required.
- assist with the set up and tear down of the educational display
- staff the educational display at gaming venues, engaging patrons in a friendly, non-judgmental manner
- accurately deliver to patrons key messaging associated with the risks of problem gambling, ways to avoid those risks, realistic expectations of winning and losing and where to get help locally
- collect feedback information from participants, if required
A collaborative and flexible team player, the PlaySmart Program Representative will have excellent verbal communication skills. With exceptional customer service expertise, the ideal candidate values professionalism and enjoys interacting with diverse groups of people. Experience in delivering educational/awareness programs or public speaking is required. Candidate must hold a valid Ontario Driver’s License and be able to travel to other Ontario locations to deliver services.
Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese or another second language is a highly desirable asset.
Candidates must be flexible to work shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends. Shifts will depend on when educational events are planned and the staff person’s availability.
