The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Ontario SPCA) is a registered charity with a Provincial Office in Stouffville and supports close to 50 communities throughout Ontario. The following position is located at Provincial Office.

 

POSITION:                       Manager, Donor Financial Services

Department:                  Finance

Reports To:                    Senior Director, Finance and Information Technology

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position plays a key role in the Finance department by overseeing all aspects of the donor financial services operations including the processing of gifts and tax receipts, supervision of a team of 2 staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise gift processing for all donations in a timely and accurate manner including: direct mail, monthly giving, special events and other (ie: legacies, direct deposits, etc) ;
  • Reconcile & authorize department bank deposits;
  • Supervise tax receipting process to ensure they are issued in a timely manner and in compliance with CRA standards;
  • Provide reporting, metrics and analysis of gift processing operations;
  • Review and document business processes to ensure the gift processing operations is running efficiently and effectively;
  • Ensure that the donation processing operations is in compliance with all relevant standards (ie: CRA, PCI, CPA, etc);
  • Support the branches with Gift-in-kind and tax receipting inquiries;
  • Supervise the mailroom/shipping/receiving function for Provincial Office;
  • Creates process and system documentation for the department;
  • Provides insight for continual improvement of the operational and financial effectiveness of the finance department;
  • Supports the CFO, Director of Finance and Information Technology and other members of the finance department as required;

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree or related College diploma
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database
  • Strong Excel skills (ie: vlookup, pivot tables)
  • Strong understanding of report writing and querying data
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage a team
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines
  • Detail orientated and strong analytical skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Experience in a non-profit organization considered an asset
