About your role

As a member of the Corporate Innovation team, you will contribute to helping corporate organizations activate their innovation strategies and connect to the startup ecosystem in meaningful way. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Partner Success, this role supports a growing portfolio of 25+ corporate partners spanning financial services, energy, healthcare, retail, CPG, telecom and media industry sectors. Working closely with Venture Services, this group leads post-sale activities including onboarding and active account management, liaising with a variety of groups across the organization to deliver value-added services per the contracted agreement, while supporting the account expansion and renewal process. Key activities will include: meeting logistics, events coordination, communications and partner relations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Help plan and organize the delivery of our programs and events including booking space, liaising with presenters, organizing marketing,day-of event logistics and collecting event feedback 
  • Events may be related to corporate innovation, venture showcases, thought leaders, investor events or events on behalf of a corporate partner – all part of the MaRS mission to help innovators succeed
  • Coordinate a calendar of events including both MaRS supported and other relevant events that we attend/speak at/support in the community
  • Develop strong working relationships with members of Venture Services, Events and Communications teams
  • Assist in reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis 
  • Update the corporate Salesforce.com and My.MaRS databases to ensure MaRS’ centralized database is accurate and up-to-date 
  • Coordinate and lead inbound and outbound communication activities including channels like Slack, MailChimp, Eventbrite, etc. in collaboration with our Communications team
  • Maintain organization and smooth workflow between internal and external stakeholders by using relevant project management software and communication tools (Asana, Harvest, Outlook, etc.)
  • Create and manage Eventbrite events with the assistance of the MaRS Communication team ensuring that marketing is within brand guidelines 
  • Administrative duties to support the Corporate Engagement team

Qualifications

You will have:                    

  • University or college degree; communications, marketing or business is an asset
  • 1-2 years’ work experience; client-facing experience required 
  • Experience working with Outlook, Salesforce, Eventbrite, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey (or similar)
  • Familiarity with project coordination and software like Asana is an asset 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; ability to learn and use software programs
