About the Role:

At LoyaltyOne, we’re in the business of enriching relationships between brands and their customers. We do this by following a specific statement of values that allow us to be leaders in the market place.  An important element of what we stand for is to use our extensive assets and expertise to create social innovation programs that drive both social benefit as well as business benefit.  

At LoyaltyOne we are experts in influencing behaviour change.  We are currently using this expertise to help address a significant social issue around lack of food literacy and food security amongst many children in Canada.  In 2016 we created a social enterprise program called the Good Food Machine that helps teach children and youth how to grow and cook healthy food in school.  We are already in 23 schools and 55 community centres and help over 20,000 children and youth across Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Nunavut.    And we are growing quickly.

Reporting to the Head of Social Change Strategy & Innovation, the Social Innovation Coordinator (Co-op) will provide end-to-end support of the Good Food Machine in multiple areas to ensure goals and expected project outcomes are met within schedule, quality and cost constraints. 

Job Responsibilities:

Operational support:​

  • Managing GFM information requests, plus all aspects of donations and purchases to schools and community centres in our communities across Canada

Research Results Tracking:​

  • Managing all aspects of results gathering through creation, distribution, some data entry, plus analysis of results from external surveys to student and teachers, plus internal surveys to associates

Financial Reporting:​

  •    Working with finance to ensure we have an updated revenues inflow and cost outflow tracking document

Volunteer Management:​

  •  Working with our LoyaltyOne volunteers to help them get their vulnerable sector checks, to set up and manage volunteering opportunities, to gather feedback and images from volunteers for internal sharing

Communications: 

  • INTERNAL:
    • Work with HR, Internal Communications and Associate Engagement teams to develop internal communications and Associate involvement plans as needed
    • Participate in developing communication to all LoyaltyOne staff about GFM results and stories, plus Alliance Data communications teams’ as needed.  This can include developing the communication, delivering digital elements for digital signage, collaborating with Corporate Communications & Care Communications teams
  • EXTERNAL:
    • Coordinate media or PR events
    • Ensure media and PR partners have the images and information they need
    • Support and help build following for GFM social media on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
    • Help create a Good Food Machine infographic – digital and printed
    • Other initiatives as needed

Required Skills:

  • Enrolment in a Business, Marketing and or related program
  • Excellent organization skills, enjoys improving processes and optimizing efficiencies
  • Good interpersonal skills, enjoys working with people and managing external and internal client relationships
  • Strong communication skills, enjoys storytelling via social media channels
  • Results-driven with ability to work with basic research surveys and extract insights
  • Outgoing personality, creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills, positive “can-do” attitude, cares about vulnerable people in our country
  • Bilingual a big plus
