Indirect Tax Manager

Job Description

  • Responsible for all Indirect tax related compliance across Canada
  • Ability to handle independently all indirect tax related communications and interactions with revenue officials and maintain a working relationship with the revenue and government audit officials
  • Act as an advisor for the business with regards to indirect taxes
  • Work with the Global Care Center to ensure on time and accurate filing of all returns
  • Proactively support the Senior Manager in planning and prioritizing the day-to-day work and visit of revenue and government audit officials. Leveraging managerâ??s experience and knowledge, and closely working to bring process improvements in the day to day activities
  • Coordination with other teams and ability to guide them through complex transactions
  • Ability to work with 3rd party consultants on tax recoveries and other incentives.

Job Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Business or related field
  • Completion of a professional designation (CGA, CMA, CA)
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years related tax experience in a CA firm or industry
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, experience in researching commodity tax legislative issues, Bilingualism an asset (English and French)
  • Ability to motivate others, strong communication skills, Strong supervisory experience
  • Strong planning and prioritizing skills, organizational skills and strong project/time management skills
  • ERP/SAP experience is preferred along with strong Excel skills
  • Experience dealing with or working with CRA would be an asset
  • CICA In-Depth GST course an asset
