Your Role and Responsibilities

This position resides in Markham, Ontario and is a 16-month work term commencing May 2021. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing customer documentation for our product portfolio. The successful candidate will quickly gain a sound theoretical and hands-on understanding of the technical details and produce documentation that delights our customers. You will also advise the development team on style and language use within the product. The media that you will use can cover a broad spectrum, including traditional text, product embedded help, guided tours, graphics, and videos.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Co-op or internship program enrolment is mandatory
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with writing and editing content for different types of users - End Users, Administrators, Developers
• Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable
• Proficiency in content authoring, graphics design, and multimedia tools including DITA XML, Adobe Illustrator, Camtasia, MS Office, Notepad ++, and a screen capture tool like Hypersnap.
• Familiarity with the software development life cycle in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of programming concepts and languages such as Java
• Experience with Windows OS and familiarity with Linux OS
• Good understanding of Cloud computing, which is supplemented by some familiarity with web services, micro services, and other technologies
