*This position resides in Toronto, Ontario and is a 4 (co-op)month work term commencing May 2018. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

This posting is for IBM Technical Services, the Hardware & Software support division of IBM Canada Ltd. We install/maintain a variety of IBM and Non-IBM (OEM) equipment. This includes Mainframe / Midrange / Storage Systems / Banking Industry / PC / Printer and Network (Cisco) environments. 

Post-sale maintenance of IBM and other vendor hardware and software at customer locations. Break / Fix of Laptops / Desktop plus several other non-IBM branded hardware. Successful candidate will support multiple products by providing break/fix support to banking customers in the GTA.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Having primary responsibilities performing some of the following activities: install, monitor, maintain, diagnose, test, configure, set-up, and respond to system activity. Also, may function as initial contact to provide technical assistance to internal or external users. Assists and works under general supervision in layouts, product support, devices, methods or procedures. Requires some supervision and receives general instructions and typically works within well defined, established processes, procedures and/or guidelines. May be responsible for timeliness and availability of various platforms, including client server, and for resolving problems for all network or server components. As required, interface with various network vendors and utilities and utilize the Systems Management Process specific for client. Responsible for maintaining documentation/operating within area of expertise. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory
  • Own transportation and a valid driver’s license required
  • Legal Working Status

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Proven PC skills in both hardware and software
  • Understanding of IBM Servers & Storage products adds value.-
  • Mechanical aptitude,
  • Networking skills,
  • Demonstrated written / verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with strong sense of customer commitment
