The Cloud Innovation Lab is a team dedicated to ensuring that the IBM Cloud is at the forefront of cloud technology, from data center design to network architecture to storage and compute clusters to flexible infrastructure services. We are building IBM's next generation cloud platform to deliver performance and predictability for our customers' most demanding workloads, at global scale and with leadership efficiency, resiliency and security. We are looking for a Software Developer to join our Monitoring team, one who innovates & shares our passion for winning in the cloud marketplace.

The successful candidate will work as a Software Developer as part of the Cloud Lab Monitoring
team with a focus on the following key responsibilities:

  • Work on the design, implementation and tests of the other cloud infrastructure API's
  • Define and deliver architecture
  • Help the team drive the design and development of the monitoring infrastructure, event handlers and ASG work.
  • Help engage other teams within the cloud innovation lab to use the monitoring infrastructure
  • Build high quality code using agile practices, and by reviewing and testing all aspects to ensure it is production ready.
  • Work closely with the team on implementation and champion the delivery best practices across the board

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in REST API design, development and testing are required
  • Solid coding experience, preferably with parallel and distributed systems
  • Strong coding experience with multiple languages including, preferably Go
  • Experience with Lua and nginx
  • Familiarity with and preferably extensive experience with open source CI/CD tools such as GitHub
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver with quality in a team environment

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience with Kong, EKL, Kafka, Cassandra and Kubernetes would be an asset
