*This Student Position resides in Markham, Ontario and is a 4-8 months work term commencing September 2017. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

The following job responsibilities for Social Media Coordinator include:

We are looking for a proven communicator to join the IBM Analytics team focused on social media for our customers. The ideal candidate will write content for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and ensure our channels are updated daily. The candidate will also field questions from clients sent to us through social media, engaging experts to respond when necessary. The candidate will also host virtual events for our clients through social channels. In addition, the candidate will track metrics for our posts and pages and develop an innovative way to share these results with our stakeholders.

Beyond social media, the candidate will join a busy communications team and will create presentations, write content for internal and external audiences, and complete other communications-related tasks.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Knowledge of social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, others) and Social Media tooling (Hootsuite)
  • Basic graphics skills (Adobe Illustrator or similar)
  • Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Demonstrated interest and ability to write engaging content
  • Experience with social media channels
  • Project management
  • Self-directed
  • Ability to work with a small team

Eligibility Requirements:

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by embargo Export Regulations. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following embargoed countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria) on a work permit you are not eligible for employment in this position.
