*This position resides in Ottawa, Ontario and is a 4-month work term commencing January 2018. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

Have a passion for enabling high quality, performant software? We are seeking an innovative student to join our software Performance and Scalability team. Your role will be a combination of software testing and script development. You will contribute to the automation implementation and testing of new features and integration points in Cognos Analytics from a performance and scalability perspective

Candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work under minimal guidance with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

Your collaboration and communication skills will be fundamental to the overall team success of the projects you work on

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory
  • Course work or on the job knowledge in one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery
  • Course work or on the job knowledge of using web application development/testing tools and techniques
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with XML, JSON, REST
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Demonstrates verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Knowledge of the software development cycle
  • Familiarity with JMeter
  • Understanding of software engineering
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of Agile development process
