IBM-GTS is searching for a Pre Sales Solution Architect responsible for designing solutions using offerings from the Systems services line. This role will define best practices in the critical evaluation, selection and/or management of the hardware/software requirements of infrastructure environments, whether traditional workloads, cloud, hybrid IT or hybrid cloud. The Architect will use their expertise in systems to evaluate and design methods, architectures and processes using best practices. This role is responsible for infrastructure related quality, performance, availability, scalability and integrity, ensuring systems platform usability, etc.

The PreSales Infrastructure Architect is a pre-sales role focused on Infrastructure Architecture (hardware and application hosting), Cloud and Infrastructure Services. The ideal candidate is responsible for reviewing customer requirements, researching possible solutions, documenting the solution that best meets the customer requirements, and developing cost files which includes hardware, software and labor to transition from current environment to the proposed solution and deliver the solution in steady state. The Pre Sales Infrastructure Architect must have the ability to work closely with clients in consultative selling mode, collaborating with clients to understand the client's business requirements, issues, and priorities and develop a solution that advances the client's business strategy and goals.

Familiarity with industry standards, compliance and certifications (such as HIPAA, PCI, etc). Understanding of Cloud solutions, virtual platforms, and future technology roadmaps. Ability to craft innovative custom solutions. The candidate will have knowledge of midrange networking connectivity. They will also have knowledge of infrastructures and middleware (active directory, WAS (WebSphere Application Server), databases).

This is a customer facing role and the candidate must be comfortable and confident working (including presenting) with client line of business executives and be able to work effectively in a collaborative role.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Applicants typically have a pre-sales background and must have the following skills:
  • Cisco UCS, Versastack, VMWare, VMTurbo, modernization of client environment, architecture, sizing and scoping of core platforms, integration, disaster recovery and high availability expertise specific to the architecture components.
  • Familiar with IBM Power systems and Intel architecture.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • French language
  • Cisco Network design
  • Professional communication and presentation skills
