*This position resides in Fredericton, NB and is a 4 or 8 (co-op) month work term commencing September 2019. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

The Position

As a Distributed Systems Developer, you are part of a highly focused, self-managed Agile team who designs, develops, and tests core framework functionality for QRadar. You will design and code software that is reusable, scalable and meets critical architecture goals for large enterprise distributed systems.

As a member of a dynamic team in supporting the delivery of enterprise software for a large user base, you demonstrate leadership, technical curiosity, a self-starter, creativity as well as forward thinking with a passion for growth and innovation.

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following US sanctioned countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory
  • Experience developing software using the following: Linux, Java, Javascript, SQL, git, IDE (Eclipse, netbeans, etc)
  • Demonstrated understanding of networking protocols and principles
  • Knowledge of design patterns and data structures
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • English fluency

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Experience using Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of security best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with unit and integration testing
  • Experience with regex and JSON format
  • Knowledge of Docker and microservices
  • Experience Lua
