Legal Counsel

Early Career

Legal Counsel will provide legal advice and promote risk management among business units within Honda's Canadian businesses, including Honda Canada Inc., Honda Canada Finance Inc., and Honda Trading Canada Inc.


  • Support the Sr. Legal Counsel, General Counsel and other Legal team members in the provision of expert and strategic legal advice on various legal and related areas, with a focus on high-volume commercial contracts and commercial matters
  • Other matters may include: litigation & disputes, privacy, employment, marketing and advertising, corporate matters, and consumer protection
  • Develop and sustain effective and collaborative professional working relationships within the Legal department and with business customers
  • Monitor developments in legislation, regulations, case law and general legal literature to determine impact on company and identify opportunities


  • Lawyer in good standing and called to the bar in a Canadian jurisdiction
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation
  • Litigation experience in product liability would be considered an asset
  • Strong organizational/project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and strategically identify risk
  • A continuous learner who stays on top of business trends and legislative changes
  • Flexible and adapts to change well
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of integrity
  • Experience in the automotive industry and proficiency in French would be considered assets
