POSITION TITLE: Corporate Financial Planning Analyst
REPORTS TO: Manager, Corporate Financial Planning

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Work with the Financial Planning group in meeting its business objective of assisting in the achievement of corporate objectives by compiling and reporting on budget and forecast information for both internal and external customers.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare segments of quarterly/annual Budget/Forecast for internal and external reporting
  • Prepare detailed Gross Profit Variance Analyses and Budget/ Forecast Reports for Global Consolidation
  • Monitor Sales Incentive Programs and prepare monthly accruals
  • Co-ordinate data gathering from various internal departments and Honda companies for budget/forecast creation
  • Provide timely, relevant reporting and analyses of departmental performance against historical, budgeted and forecasted results to facilitate decision making
  • Prepare Budget review presentations and management reporting packages for each forecast
  • Responsible for segments of monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including Transfer Pricing, for both internal and external customers
  • Initiate and support accounting and other process improvement changes
  • Support the implementation/upgrade of relevant systems
  • Support compliance activities, Audits, SOX, etc.
  • Work closely with team of 4 Financial Analysts

POSITION PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • University-level education, accounting, or business degree preferred
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) required
  • 5+ years of progressive budgeting and forecasting related experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Attention to detail is essential with focus on high quality of deliverables
  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and to take initiative
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently under pressure within strict deadlines
  • Sound analytical thinking and problem solver
  • Experience with an ERP system required (SAP experience would be an asset)
  • Effectively manages tasks in changing environment, often under pressure and within rigid time constraints

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all members of the team
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal departments and affiliated subsidiaries
