Chief Executive Officer

Flemingdon Health Centre (FHC) is a multi-service community health centre providing a wide range of health-related services based on the social determinants of health and community engagement models. FHC is a champion for people and communities who experience systemic barriers that impact their health outcomes. FHC provides services from three locations, Flemingdon site, Fairview site and Health Access Thorncliffe Park (HATP) – an innovative partnership with The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO) providing health, social and settlement services in Thorncliffe Park. FHC is built on a family medicine model which focuses on the factors that affect the community’s health. Programs and services emphasize family medicine, community involvement, health promotion and disease prevention. FHC works in close partnership with other agencies and organizations to ensure efficient service delivery and to address identified issues, such as poverty, employment, food security, isolation and newcomer support.

FHC has an annual budget of more than $10M and is primarily funded through the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network. FHC has a complement of over 100 dedicated staff as well as many volunteers and active community participants. When the health centre opened its doors in 1972 it was a satellite clinic of Sunnybrook Hospital and was incorporated as a health centre in 1975. FHC has had a long-standing tradition as a teaching centre affiliated with the University of Toronto through the Department of Family and Community Medicine as well as receiving students in various disciplines from other universities and community colleges. FHC serves more than 9,000 people every year through an increasingly broad range of medical and dental services, children and youth programs, family programs and community support services.
