The Internal Audit (IA) team has an opening for a dedicated and energetic student to join as part of a multi-disciplinary team of auditors. Internal Audit is offering an excellent career development opportunity which will provide the students with a "big picture" view of EDC, while developing a marketable skill set that focuses on identifying and analyzing business risks and controls and developing practical recommendations.
The successful student will be responsible for assisting Internal Audit team members in completing internal audit projects including planning, fieldwork, client debriefs and reporting processes.
Responsibilities may include:
Assist in the delivery of audit and consulting services across EDC's lines of business and/or support areas.
Research and apply best practices when assessing and evaluating business process.
Assist in maintaining Internal Audit methodology and updating audit manuals to ensure information is current.
Collect, analyze, explain and verify information and data to determine if records and reports contain accurate, reliable, and timely information.
Assist in the review and assessment of controls to establish their existence, adequacy and operating status.
Document process procedures used in each audit / project in detailed working papers including meeting minutes.
- Data entry of completed audit work into Internal Audit system.
Student enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
Good financial analysis skills, including an understanding of basic accounting and financial principles
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Motivated self-starter, good organizational and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Ability to communicate in both official languages
