Team & Job Overview

The GBD Associate / Senior Associate is part of Global Business Development's Strategy and Operations team, and reports to the Manager, GBD Strategy and Operations.

The GBD Associate / Senior Associate is responsible for executing assigned projects, initiatives and tasks that are critical to the fulfillment of GBD's mandate. The role is focused on supporting members of the GBD Team (the Regional Managers, the Chief Representatives - both market and Ottawa based - and the Global Account Directors/Managers) with the implementation of their priorities as derived from the GBDs mission-critical tasks and market coverage strategies.


  • Provides operational support to Business Development management and representatives;
  • Facilitating transactions by supporting the due diligence required for deal approval as well as huddle and deal team participation;
  • Assists project teams charged with redeveloping or enhancing business processes that effect business development;
  • Participates in the integration, modification and management of policies, guidelines, processes, procedures and controls to ensure efficient, effective, standards and consistent business development processes;
  • Assists teams in the development of new or innovative sales and account management practices;
  • If required, engages with internal (including the regions virtual teams) and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, diplomats and other key relationships;
  • Provides analytical support for the process of scoping, assessing and developing their overall regional, country and sector strategies;
  • Provides research support required by team members for them to be able to deliver timely and relevant market intelligence to our internal and external customers;
  • Lead the submission / review process on country positions in collaboration with the work cells;
  • If required, support the timely and accurate delivery of executive briefing materials;
  • If required, assists with the preparation of presentations, speeches and/or other material for corporate representation events.


Screening Criteria:

  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or in a related field


  • 0-2 years relevant work experience
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills in English

Senior Associate:

  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills in English

  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)

Salary Range

  • Associate: $45,000 - $67,000, plus performance-based incentive
  • Senior Associate: $52,000 - $79,000, plus performance-based incentive
