Assistant Surveyor - OLRT

In the position of Assistant Surveyor - OLRT, we would ask you to do the following:

  • Under the direction of the Construction Surveyor, provide assistance to the surveying team
  • Operate survey instruments and devices
  • Clean and maintain equipment; maintain supplies and ensure necessary physical resources are available in the field
  • Effectively operate hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks
  • Follow and implement quality program
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Various other duties as assigned, based on project requirements

Sounds challenging and exciting right? Here are a few of the attributes and experience you need to be successful in this position:

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience, direct surveying experience considered an asset
  • Graduate of a recognized program related to surveying or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge of survey methods
  • The ability to interpret and use information from maps, graphic drawings and measurements taken in the field
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Fluency in English required; ability to communicate in French or Spanish is an asset
  • Experience with GPS, Robotic Total Stations, levels (preferably Leica, Trimble) is an asset
  • Computer skills with the ability to use AutoCAD (Civil 3D), MicroStation, Leica Geo Office, MS Office, MS Excel
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a high level of dependability
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be comfortable with shift work, both days and nights
