Standards Enforcement Coordinator
CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Standards Enforcement Coordinator who will apply their regulatory, investigative and/or professional services experience to provide support to the intake and assessment of complaints involving professional misconduct. This role provides case management support, investigative and administrative assistance to the department as well as to CPA Ontario’s Professional Conduct Committee in carrying out its mandate.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Monitoring complaint intake channels and acting as the initial point of contact for complainants and respondents.
Communicating with the parties involved in the complaints process to gather sufficient and appropriate information and supporting documentation.
Reviewing complaint materials, conducting research, and working collaboratively with the team to develop risk-adjusted case plans to assess whether the alleged misconduct may have occurred.
Managing case management database updates.
Assisting with drafting, amending, or compiling file and related materials and where necessary, liaising with Professional Conduct Committee members or other departments within the organization.
Providing administrative support for activities involving file management and external contractors.
Analyzing data and preparing reports, statistics and related document briefs that will be relied upon by the Vice President, Standards Enforcement and/or Professional Conduct Committee in carrying out its respective mandates.
Liaising with internal and external parties to support file transfers and the management of requests for information, including requests relating to the independent review of complaints.
Supporting the Regulatory Specialist, where required, in meeting management activities involving the Professional Conduct Committee, which include liaison work with the Investigations and Prosecutions team and acting as the Professional Conduct Committee meeting moderator.
Supporting the team’s process improvement initiatives and digitization efforts in regard to record management and retention, as well as case management timelines, commitments, outcomes and key performance indicators.
Participating in special projects and initiatives and liaising with other areas of the organization as requested by the Vice President, Standards Enforcement in support of the organization’s strategic and/or regulatory priorities.
Who You Are:
A post-secondary graduate with a diploma or degree.
Experienced in a related field such as legal, regulatory, investigative or professional services combined with a strong business acumen (an asset but not required).
An excellent communicator (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders and handle difficult conversations with diplomacy.
Digitally fluent with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, and ideally having experience with Visio, File Cloud, SharePoint, Salesforce and case management software, and with Power BI, or other data analytics tool.
A highly organized professional, able to manage multiple tasks, meet competing deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
Skilled at conflict resolution, along with excellent attention to accuracy and detail.
A proactive self-starter with positive energy and drive for continuous improvement.
Experienced in a collaborative team setting or project-oriented environment.
