Human Resources Specialist
What You’ll Be Doing:
Delivering and implementing key HR programs and initiatives across the organization including benefits and pension administration, onboarding and offboarding execution, new employee orientation, performance management, policy implementation, employee engagement activities, health & safety, and compliance matters.
Planning, communicating, and executing human resources events and engagement activities throughout the year, including wellness sessions, mental health initiatives, benefit & pension education, health screening clinics, RBC Race for the Kids, and Take Our Kids to Work Day.
Ensuring a seamless onboarding program for new hires while partnering with the recruitment team, hiring managers and other departments.
Accountable for inputting payroll transactions into the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) and working closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Maintaining the data integrity of the HRIS, benefits and pension systems, and employee files as well as working closely with the HR Analyst to conduct regular audits and recommend corrective measures as required.
Serving as a point of contact for employees inquiring about leaves of absence and managing the short-term and long-term disability leave program.
Consulting with employees and managers regarding sensitive or complex matters while addressing concerns and questions with professionalism, tact and diplomacy while ensuring confidentiality.
Co-Chairing the Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensuring that our Health and Safety processes are current to ensure compliance.
Ensuring that you are current on HR best practices and legislative requirements enabling you to provide advice and guidance to employees and management related to the Employee Handbook, organization policies, benefit programs, regulations, and employee relations.
Participating in various cross-functional projects and teams as the HR subject matter expert.
Who You Are:
A post-secondary graduate preferably in human resources with a minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a human resources generalist role, with demonstrated experience providing HR support and guidance to employees at all levels in an organization.
In the process of completing or have already completed your CHRP or CHRL designation.
Experienced processing transactions in an HRIS (ADP Workforce Now would be an asset) with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
An exceptional communicator (verbally and written), with strong presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills combined with a strong professional presence, good judgment, and a proven ability to handle interactions with tact and diplomacy.
A multitasker who is proficient at managing HR administration and takes pride is completing processes from beginning to end.
Experienced dealing with challenging and sensitive employee situations with a proven ability to maintain confidential information.
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, complex situations and shifting priorities with the ability to confidently make decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Digitally savvy with advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
