Event Specialist
CPA Ontario is currently in search of an Event Specialist who will be responsible for the planning and execution of in-person, hybrid and virtual conferences and special events for members, students and CPA Ontario employees. Reporting to the Conference and Events Manager, you will provide stakeholders with event recommendations and project planning services to ensure a seamless, best-in-class experiences.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Executing on end-to-end planning of high profile virtual, hybrid, and in-person event initiatives and leading the planning and logistics of up to four annual CPA Ontario employee events.
Providing on-site support and contributing to the execution of all CPA Ontario special events and professional development conferences, ultimately making a meaningful impact on members, students and employees at every level of the organization.
Creating and ensuring delivery of virtual asset requirements from all involved parties and organizing, preparing and uploading event content for the virtual environment.
Partnering with vendors to deliver on elements of the attendee experience, including A/V and staging, catering, attendee materials and collaborating with the Marketing and Communications teams on executing conference marketing plans and developing event marketing collateral.
Providing weekly status updates on event progress, managing and reporting on event registration and conducting pre- and post-event debriefs for our stakeholders.
Supporting innovation of data-driven observation within the team, with a focus on transforming event data into relevant, actionable recommendations to improve event design and attendee experiences.
Managing event technical platform production and applying latest platform knowledge to shape innovative and impactful virtual, hybrid, and in-person events and serving as primary event and technical contact for attendees during the hybrid and virtual engagement process.
Staying current in design trends, entertainment, production, vendor products, and new industry technologies.
Who You Are:
A post-secondary graduate with a degree in Marketing, Event Planning or other related discipline.
Experienced in event and/or conference planning with the proven ability to organize and execute successful meetings and experiences on-site, virtually and in hybrid environments; a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation would be considered an asset.
An excellent communicator (verbal and written) with well developed negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives
Technically savvy and knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams and ideally experienced with event registration programs, and virtual event platforms such as Vimeo.
Creative and able to think “outside of the box” and demonstrate a passion for “best in class” events.
A highly organized professional, able to manage multiple projects, meet competing deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Skilled at multi-tasking and managing changing priorities with excellent decision-making and judgement skills.
Committed to client service and delivering best-in-class experiences for attendees while paying close attention to accuracy, small details and quality.
Experienced in a collaborative team setting or project-oriented environment.
Flexible and available to work outside of regular business hours including early mornings, nights, and weekends when required.
