Crothall Healthcare, a division of Compass Group Canada is looking for Casual (on call) Housekeepers to perform all aspects of janitorial work at the following locations Children's and Women's Hospital, TACC Building, BC Cancer Agency and Bock Fahrni Pavilion in Vancouver, BC.

Job Description

Hiring Location: Children's and Women's Hospital, TACC Building, BC Cancer Agency and Bock Fahrni Pavilion

Pay Rate: $15.37 per hour to start and $16.62 after probation.

Start date:  Immediate, but will remain open until filled

Job Status: Casual

Shifts: We are looking to fill Mornings, Afternoon and Night Shifts. 8 hrs per day/ 37.5 hrs. per week.

Additional Information:

  • Shift premiums are available for late afternoons and graveyard shifts.
  • Uniform and Shoe allowance every pay check.

The Housekeeping Associate will be responsible for:

  • Key cleaning duties throughout the hospital such as disinfecting, damp dusting, dry and wet mopping, floor maintenance and finishing, cleaning of washrooms, walls, vents, patient rooms including beds, furniture and soiled linen, regular and biomedical waste collection.
  • This position requires a positive, 'Can Do' attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding, and patient centric customer service oriented environment.


  • Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare, hotel or commercial cleaning strongly preferred.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Note: A satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the purposes of working with vulnerable adults and children is a condition of employment. Proof of immunizations and Tuberculosis Screening Rest results will be required from successful candidates.
