Student intern, Researcher (Technical Construction) - Position can be anywhere in Canada

Join the Research team, where we accelerate housing affordability through research and disruptive innovation. In this role, you will assist with data analysis and interpretation, conduct environment scan and contribute to housing research related to technical construction. You will help support development and completion of research projects to address business needs. 

We are currently hiring for two full-time Student Intern for a 4-month Summer term (May - August).

Responsibilities: 

• Research, with support of senior researchers, technical housing issues, challenges and solutions in relation to CMHC business areas, ensuring the quality, accuracy, timeliness and reliability of research.    
• Provide support for research projects of other researchers and colleagues.
• Contribute to data consolidation, analysis and input into development and enhancement of housing programs and services.
• Produce accurate reports with clear and concise tables, graphs and presentations for others by collecting, manipulating and mapping data from a variety of sources and inputting that data into standard formats.
• Monitor housing trends and issues through intelligence gathering and environmental scans including a broader literature review that identifies current and emerging issues, potential sources of data etc.     

Minimum Qualifications
• University or 3-year college diploma in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, sustainable energy, sustainable design, energy modelling, building science or a related discipline in the field of building design, construction or analysis, or suitable education and experience.
• Knowledge of and experience with statistical and analytical software tools to provide relevant and accurate housing data.     
• Knowledge of and experience with research and analysis of primary and secondary data using appropriate methodologies, quantitative and statistical analysis.     
• Knowledge of current issues, trends and conditions that impact housing affordability in Canada (an asset).  
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.     
• Bilingualism (French and English) an asset
