Senior Analyst, Multi-Unit Underwriting (Position can be located anywhere in Canada)

Join the Client Solution Team, where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. You will be responsible for reviewing, underwriting and recommending approval of applications for financing under the National Housing Strategy (NHS) and existing CMHC programs.

Responsibilities:
• Reviews, underwrites, and recommends for approval loan and contribution applications and leverages the various programs offered by CMHC to find the most suitable solution for the proponents to achieve the expected results of the programs.
• Responsible for underwriting and assessing affordable, multi-unit housing applications for new construction and repairs in line with the expected results of the programs and within CMHC's risk appetite and government expectations.
• Manages risk by exercising prudence and due diligence while reviewing and approving applications.
• Maintains quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities.
• Provides effective and efficient delivery of the National Housing Strategy (NHS) and existing CMHC programs.
• Works in partnership with internal and external stakeholders by offering support, communicating key decisions, interpreting policies and responding to inquiries related to NHS programs.

Minimum Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as business, finance or commerce.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in credit/financial analysis (Knowledge of construction financing, multi-unit underwriting, and credit risk analysis would be considered an asset).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (experience in building reports and/or in using statistical analysis software such as MS Excel or Power BI considered an asset)
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
