Founded in 1965, Christian Horizons is a non-profit, faith-based charitable organization supporting people with disabilities in Canada and around the world. With over 3,500 employees, Christian Horizons supports nearly 2,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families. Christian Horizons supports people within their communities throughout Ontario and Saskatchewan. Internationally, Christian Horizons works in partnership with local organizations to promote the inclusion and rights of people with disabilities in seven developing countries. We are currently hiring for the following two (2) positions in the Kingston area:


(40 hours/week: Consists of a rotation of days, evenings and alternating weekend shifts)



(16 hours/week: Shifts occur on alternating weekends. Our part-time employees have the ability to work up to 34 hours a week)




We are looking for passionate Direct Support Professionals (Support Workers) to assist persons with developmental disabilities to find a satisfying and purposeful place in their community by enhancing their quality of life and promoting personal growth.

In this role, you’ll be provided with opportunities to foster community inclusion, assist with activities of daily living, promote the implementation of person-centered plans, and assist with aspects of personal care as needed.

In these opportunities, you’ll be supporting individuals who live in a community residential home (group home) where we provide 24/7 support. We value flexibility in one’s schedule to meet our person centered support needs.  Our schedules often include a rotation or days, evenings and working alternating weekends. Our homes are located within the city of Kingston and are accessible via public transit.

  • Education and experience in Developmental Services or a related field
  • A Developmental Service Worker Diploma is a preferred qualification
  • First Aid/CPR and Non Violent Crisis Intervention certifications
  • Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License
  • Computer literacy
  • Commitments to a respectful and person-centered approach are essential assets
  • A preferred asset also includes proficiency in speaking/reading French
