Chick-fil-A’s Digital Transformation and Technology (DTT) Department exists to enable and empower innovation and digital transformation at the world’s most caring company! As a DTT Summer Intern (Technical track/Engineering), you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Build cloud-based software products using modern code technologies, and collaborate with Engineers, Scrum Masters, Architects, QA Testers, and other subject matter experts in an Agile/DevOps based environment to create solutions for real business outcomes
- Build your proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Go
- Build your professional skills through 1:1 mentoring from an Intern Coach chosen to support you over the course of the summer
- Connect with Chick-fil-A executives, DTT department leadership, and other key stakeholders across Chick-fil-A to build your network, learn more about Chick-fil-A culture and distinctives, and explore future career opportunities in the digital space at Chick-fil-A
As an International Intern at Chick-fil-A, you will contribute to our growth through challenging and meaningful work. You will build cross-cultural competency as you work on impactful projects, immerse yourself in our unique culture, and experience the city of Atlanta. This is an 11 week position at Chick-fil-A’s Support Center in Atlanta, with an anticipated start date in May 2024.
Our Flexible Future model offers a healthy mix of working in person and virtually, strengthening key elements of the Chick-fil-A culture by fostering collaboration and community.
Responsibilities
- Learn about a variety of Chick-fil-A systems and technologies and contribute directly to their success
- Contribute to exciting DTT projects or initiatives with guidance from an intern coach
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand business goals and challenges. Influence new and innovative ways to solve business and technical challenges
- Learn from key members of the DTT department to better understand digital roles, key functions, business outcomes and shared goals within DTT
- Help foster a culture of care and inclusiveness
- Learn and carry out the principles of servant leadership within the Chick-fil-A environment
- Understand and carryout the principles of effective communication in a technology-base environment
Project Examples from Previous Internships:
- Automating our restaurants by leveraging IoT devices for our kitchens
- Developing systems to make our restaurants the safest place to eat
- Supporting digital workplace transformation for Corporate Staff

*AS PART OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS, CANDIDATES WILL BE ASKED TO TAKE AN ONLINE TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current student planning to return to undergraduate program in Fall 2024
- Strong working knowledge of at least one major programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or other comparable language)
- Analytical mindset with an aptitude and eagerness to problem-solve
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to spend the majority of time coding
- 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Passing score on online technical assessment
Preferred Qualifications
