Web Maintenance Coordinator

Maternity Today is a nonprofit international organization dedicated to sharing evidence and resources with communities, health care workers, and midwives in developing countries. Our office is located in Ottawa,Canada but receives support from global health experts and midwives around the world. Our key priority areas include improving the midwifery profession and institutional delivery, adolescent health, community mobilization, and advocacy.

Your responsibilities include:  

  • Monitor, assess, and report on website performance.

  •  Ensure WordPress website functionality and perform software update

  •  Respond and troubleshoot website issues as needed

  • Oversee implementation of major site-wide upgrades.

  • Make adjustments to the design (or overhaul it) to improve user experience and website loading

  • Train other team members on using the content management system (CMS) and other online features, if needed.

  • Track website visitors and create regular analytics reports to show increases and decreases in traffic.

  • Support the Communications Director as requested in the planning and development of site content, style, and appearance.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

  •  Front-end and back-end WordPress experience.

  •  Solid communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in remote and distributed teams.

  •  Comfortable training people (remote mode) who are unfamiliar with the use of the website's CMS.

Location - remote - 4 hours/week
