Volunteer Board Member - BC Association of Pregnancy Outreach Programs - BC Association for Pregnancy Outreach Programs
BC Association of Pregnancy Outreach Programs (“BCAPOP”) is a provincial non-profit society and registered charity with over 70 member programs. It is widely recognized for its support, advocacy and leadership to improve outcomes for pregnant individuals, their babies and their families. BCAPOP works to support pregnancy outreach programs to provide best practice supports to pregnant individuals and families facing barriers such as food insecurity, poverty, unstable housing, isolation, mental health issues, substance use and others. Each member program is unique in their approach, services, funding streams and target population of participants served.
BCAPOP is currently seeking two new board members to join our volunteer board following the Annual General Meeting in October 2020. We’re seeking candidates with expertise in one (or more) of the following areas:
- Fundraising/Grant Writing
- Human Resources
Previous board experience is considered an asset.
The Board of Directors works closely with the Executive Director and Manager, Member & Board Relations to ensure the effective governance of the organization.
The Board of Directors meets six times per year and board members are expected to attend all board meetings and join one committee (finance or governance) that meets monthly. Board members are elected for a three-year term, which can be renewed. Candidates can be located anywhere in British Columbia, as meetings are by videoconference. Being a BCAPOP Board member requires a time commitment of 3 – 5 hours per month.
We encourage applications from individuals who reflect the broad diversity of our country, and encourage People of Colour, Indigenous Peoples and/or LGBTQIA2S+ people to apply.
To apply, please send your information to Monica Fitzpatrick, Manager, Member & Board Relations at email@example.com. Please include your resume and a statement as to why you are interested in joining the BCAPOP Board of Directors. Only short-listed candidates will be invited to be interviewed by members of the current BCAPOP Board of Directors.
The deadline to apply is August 21, 2020.
