Across Canada

The Shoebox Project for Women is a national registered charity that collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to local women impacted by homelessness in communities across Canada, USA and the UK.

The Shoebox Project is seeking to add two volunteer Directors to our Canadian Board. The Board of Directors is responsible for organizational governance, which includes ensuring adequate resources are in place to fulfill the charity’s mission, providing strategic leadership, ensuring that the charity is complying with relevant legislation and policies, and monitoring risk and accomplishment of goals.  Members of the Board of Directors are volunteers and serve without remuneration.

Board members commit to approximately to 5-15 hours of work per month, attend quarterly Board meetings and committee meetings, and work in close collaboration with the Executive Director.

We are particularly interested in Board members with experience in non-profit law, governance, fundraising, and anti-oppression work.

The Shoebox Project is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and to building an organization that reflects the communities we serve.  If you believe in bringing communities together to make a genuine difference in the lives of local women, then this opportunity is for you.
