Senior Executive Assistant, President and Corporate Governance - Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabiliation Hospital

As a senior executive administrator you ensure that the President & CEO (“CEO”) is supported through: pro-active thoughtful calendar management; coordination and preparation of meetings and related materials (e.g. agendas, and presentations); liaising with internal and external stakeholders; receiving, routing and responding to correspondence; adhering to privacy requirements. You are outstanding at anticipating needs that the CEO doesn’t even know she has! You shock and awe with your commitment to bringing a “customer service” orientation to every interaction you have with everyone internal and external to the organization as you recognize you are the CEO’s alter ego and represent her reputation and that of Holland Bloorview with everything you do. You manage the Executive Administrative Assistant and are a superb partner to the Manager of Strategy so that together the three of you are a seamless team in the Office of the President & CEO.

As the senior hospital governance professional you ensure the effective and efficient running of the Board and its committees. You have direct responsibility (in partnership with the CEO) for the Board work plan, agendas, Chair’s preparation and meeting notes, minutes, governance policies and by-laws. You directly support the Governance Committee of the Board and coordinate among all the vice presidents and administrators supporting other committees of the board to ensure smooth coordinated governance operations. You stay abreast of hospital governance requirements required by the Public Hospitals Act (and regulations) through continuing education (e.g. as provided by the Ontario Hospital Association) and by maintaining excellent relationships with peers especially those within the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (University of Toronto affiliated hospitals).

You partner exceptionally well across the hospital including as the team lead of/mentor to executive assistants to the senior management team, with the quality, safety and performance team (e.g. with regard to accreditation), the client and family integrated care team (e.g. in relation to client/family questions/concerns), the communications and public engagement team (e.g. in relation to events), the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation team (e.g. in relation to fundraising and donor needs).
