Community Living Mississauga is a non-profit organization, which provides support to people who have an intellectual disability so that their quality of life in the community is meaningfully improved.

Description of Program

The Summer Teen Activity Program provides teens who have an intellectual disability, ages 13 to 21, with a summer program option.  Staff provide support to small groups of teens to participate in activities such as sports, movies, mini-golf and swimming throughout Mississauga, using public transportation to get to and from the activities. 

Key Responsibilities

The Supervisor of the STAP will coordinate a schedule for staff and teens, supervise a team of staff and volunteers, facilitate weekly staff meetings, assist in staff training, carry out administrative and record-keeping responsibilities and prepare a final report.  The Supervisor must be comfortable providing personal care support, participating in all activities with the participants including swimming, and be physically fit to perform the essential duties of the job including performing lifts and transfers as necessary.

  • Developmental Services Worker Diploma or enrolled and actively pursuing this diploma                     
  • Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability
  • Valid driver's license and use of a car
  • Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, or a university degree in a related discipline
  • Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability 
  • Fluent in French
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and independently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude along with excellent teamwork
