Resource Development Coordinator - Massey Centre for Women

Massey Centre (“the Centre”) is an award-winning, accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre that is a multi-service, non-profit, unionized, community agency located in the east end of Toronto.  The Centre is committed to nurturing empowerment, independence and growth for young pregnant and parenting women, children and families in a non-judgmental, inclusive environment by providing a residential care and treatment program; supportive transitional housing; on-site high school program, community housing support and referral services; and maternal infant mental health programs and services. We do this by working collaboratively as a multi-disciplinary team with community partners to provide holistic programs and support that respond to mental health, education and transitional needs. The Centre is the lead EarlyON Child and Family Centre agency in the Toronto-Danforth riding and also operates an Early Learning Centre.  All the programs and services are open to families, young women and their children living in the broader community.

Massey Centre has a newly created Resource Development Coordinator position, which will contribute to the achievement of the Centre’s mission, vision, strategic objectives by assisting the Director, Resource Development in planning and implementation of fundraising activities and events to achieve revenue generation and growth targets. This is a confidential position and is excluded from the bargaining unit.

Reports to:

Director, Resource Development 


  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum three years relevant fundraising experience in the non-profit sector
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in donor relationship building, and ability to build rapport and inspire others in the passion for the organization’s vision and mission
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to relate with individuals or organizations in an effective manner
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines
  • High level of responsiveness, creativity, engagement, negotiating and influencing skills


  • Identify, research and cultivate long term relationships with annual campaign donors
  • Draft, edit and format a variety of donor correspondence including proposals, stewardship reports, and thank you letters
  • Participate in the planning and execution of donor stewardship events and Centre wide events
  • Assist with creating and submitting Foundation proposals and grant applications
  • Plan and execute the peer-to-peer fundraising event
  • Develop and grow third-party event campaign
  • Assist with the creation of direct mail campaigns, newsletters, social media content, and other communications materials
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts with donors, prospects and volunteers in the fundraising database
  • Assist with coordinating volunteers and student placements

Working Condition:

  • Interacts with clients, staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting and lifting.
  • Travel required
  • Occasional evenings and weekends
