Regional Program Officer - MENA - The SecDev Foundation

The SecDev Foundation is seeking a Regional Project Officer to join our rapidly growing international organization dedicated to improving the digital opportunity, safety and citizenship of users at risk around the world. 

As the Regional Project Officer, you will work at the heart of the Salam@ Programme and play a key coordination role between the field teams, partners, and the project management team.  You will work closely with the project team and Foundation HQ colleagues to support the project’s quality implementation through closely monitoring project deliverables and country-level workplans.  You will support the project through continuous monitoring and evaluation work, developing indicator trackers and reports to advise the management team on overall progress, opportunities and risks.  In addition this role will provide administrative, contracts, procurement, and project data collection and analysis support to the team to ensure the smooth running of the administrative aspects of the program.

In addition, the candidate will work in close collaboration with the SecDev Admin team and MENA project team to follow-up on the timely completion of key documentation and ensure all project documentation is well organized and filed in the Foundation’s GSuite information management system.

In order to thrive in this job, you will have a disciplined approach to organization,  good understanding of project management and administration practices, with demonstrated experience in proactively supporting program implementation, reporting and ensuring financial and administrative processes run smoothly.  You will have expert communication and partnering skills to liaise with many project stakeholders on the ground including beneficiaries, partners and subcontractors as well as Foundation HQ colleagues. You will be results-oriented and always be on the lookout for ways to pursue continuous improvement – in this regard you should not be afraid to ask questions or think creatively/innovatively in order to solve problems.  Lastly, you will have a strong sense of professionalism and ethics to uphold and protect the integrity of the Foundation programmes, policies and people at all times. 

Is this right for you? Here’s what we are looking for:

  • You have demonstrated practical experience in planning, implementing and monitoring programs, ideally in the international development or humanitarian sector 

  • You are confident in project administration, finance and organizational compliance in the non-profit/non-governmental sector; ideally in an international organization where you have developed a clear understanding of the complexities and realities of donor funded programs 

  • You are incredibly well organized and are very comfortable organizing others, you are meticulous, and proactive in all of your work.  You don’t wait for others, you reach out and help move priorities forward 

  • You have exceptional writing and editing skills – you love producing high quality reports and proposals

  • Interest in digital safety, digital citizenship, and working at the intersection of international development and cyberspace

  • Demonstrated experience forging strong relationships with program teams at HQ and (ideally) in the field; and, willing to be accommodating and flexible in support of colleagues in the field (yes, sometimes that means a 7AM or 8PM call)

  • You excel at establishing priorities in a time-sensitive environment and your ability to multi-task is unparalleled

  • Demonstrated experience working with and protecting confidential data

  • Fluency in English and Arabic written and oral communication skills

  • Familiarity with the MENA region and culture 

  • University degree in International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • You have hands on program management experience gained in a field location;

  • Masters Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field
