Full Time – Procurement Officer

Reporting to the Director of Finance the successful candidate will enhance the dignity and quality of life for our clients, through the provision of procurement services.  The incumbent must be a highly organized and efficient multi-tasker who is comfortable taking initiative and working with a high degree of autonomy in a very challenging, values-based environment. The Procurement Officer must be equipped to deal with a range of purchasing needs (building envelopes, furniture and fixtures, vehicles, information technology, bulk groceries, and varied operational services) in a professional, accountable and transparent manner with personal integrity ensuring that interactions with stakeholders are respectful, productive and non-judgmental.

Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to identify and manage multiple priorities.  Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project) are required for this position.  A proven ability to maintain confidential records, manage data and prepare reports and correspondence within prescribe deadlines is essential. 

This position will be of interest to individuals with a purchasing certification and a minimum of 2 years working in a general buying environment.  Considerable knowledge regarding purchasing methods, procedures and techniques of specification writing is required.  Previous experience working in the not-for-profit sector is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and have access to a vehicle.
