The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario is the regulatory body that oversees kinesiologists working in the province. We exist to protect the public and receive our authority from the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 and the Kinesiology Act, 2007.
We are looking for a registered kinesiologist to join our small team as a Practice Advisor and Policy Lead. This position is a first for the College, and you will have a unique opportunity to shape this role.
As the College’s Practice Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for R.Kins and stakeholders who have questions about the practice of kinesiology and/or who need practice advice. You will keep abreast of developments within the practice of kinesiology and health profession regulation to support R.Kins, stakeholders and College staff.
As the Policy Lead, you will be responsible for leading the College’s project to modernize the practice standards and guidelines and for developing performance indicators which increase our transparency and build confidence in the work of the College to protect the public and advance professionalism of kinesiologists in Ontario. Our organization is committed to strengthening both board competencies and registrant competencies and you will be at the forefront of our work, undertaking research and identifying models of competency development. You will support the work of our team to increase efficiencies and deliver value through our work.
Practically speaking, you will:
Provide advice to kinesiologists, their employers and the public.
Analyze needs of registrants for guidance and training, and for specific direction through Standards of Practice.
Lead policy development to improve governance and accountability.
Support the College in delivering high value in the achievement of strategic and operational initiatives.
How you qualify
We are looking for someone who:
Is registered in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (in the General or Inactive Class) or is eligible to register as a kinesiologist in Ontario.
Has 5+ years’ experience in kinesiology in either a clinical or non-clinical role.
Has an understanding of policy and experience in research and analyzing complex information.
Has strong writing, analytical and presentation skills.
Has demonstrated leadership and interpersonal to work with stakeholders and as part of a fast-paced team.
Working at the College
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We offer a competitive total compensation package. Our office is conveniently located near the Bloor-Yonge subway station, and there is opportunity to work remotely part of the time.
You will be part of a small and dedicated team that is committed to protecting the patients/clients of registered kinesiologists and supporting advancement of professionalism of kinesiologists as regulated health professionals in Ontario.
