Outreach Worker, Mobile Mission - Union Gospel Mission

Aug 14, 2019
Various Locations, British Columbia

The Opportunity

Would you thrive in a role in which you directly delivered food and clothing, and provided connection and referral services to the most vulnerable living on our streets? If you are adaptable, client-centered, collaborative, and service-oriented, we are looking for you to join our outreach team, working mostly afternoons/evenings Tuesday to Saturday. As the driver of our Mobile Mission Rescue Vehicle, you will travel to locations in and around Metro Vancouver to provide hope to marginalized individuals who have not yet accessed our continuum of care. If you have personal knowledge and experience with Jesus Christ and proven spiritual maturity, as well as 2-3 years of outreach experience and a valid class 5 driver’s license, then this might be a great opportunity to use your unique gifts in very tangible ways.

You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems.  There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working a weekly schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1-9pm; Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm; and Saturday from 1:30-9:30pm.  For a copy of the full job description, please visit our website.
