LiveLifeLoving Manager (Youth-HIV Programme) - LetsStopAIDS

LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders. LetsStopAIDS is entirely run by volunteers and your contribution will be part of the broader volunteer effort.

As our LiveLifeLoving Programme Manager, you will become a key player to the development of LiveLifeLoving - an online portal for youth of all backgrounds, especially those who are living with HIV to have open discussions surrounding taboo topics relating to HIV. 

You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end design, development, delivery, evaluation and iteration of the program. This includes soliciting the target audience to understand their needs, identifying networks and channels to source and assess program participants, activating and working closely with the writing and editing team to develop content that reflects the needs of the target audience, and other actions that will make the program a success.

If you have lived experience or have been affected by HIV, this is a meaningful role to shape Youth-HIV information for Canadians.

About You:

  • You consider yourself part of the HIV community; whether it is personal or professional.

  • Demonstrable project management skills: people management, budget management, external representation and reporting

  • Strong understanding of HIV at the global level is preferred

  • A sense of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking for strategy development and project design

  • The ability to manage relationships and coordinate with various individuals at multiple levels

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Ensure high-quality project management for the projects assigned

  • Preparation of annual work plans ensuring consistency, coherence in the overall planning

  • Report to the National Manager and relevant external stakeholders on the progress of projects assigned with narrative and financial reporting.

  • Pro-actively represent the project and manage the local relationships with existing and potential donors including maintaining a dialogue on project implementation approaches, progress and challenges

  • Contribute to the development of a robust communication strategy for each project, including but not limited to an annual communication plan, content development for communications materials, website and social media

  • Develop, strengthen and nurture effective working relationships and synergies with cooperating partners

Dedication: The role will require 8-15 hours per week. You can decide to volunteer remotely, however, will be encouraged to visit our Downtown Toronto (Adelaide/John) head office, once per week. Certain tasks may require irregular volunteer hours, particularly in times of need.

Preference will be given to individuals with lived experiences, relating to HIV.
