International Programmes Manager - LetsStopAIDS
LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. We are creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders.
We are looking for an International Programmes manager who will develpp and manage our international programmes, and their programme coordinators. This individual should have experience managing other team members remotely, and be comfortable developing sustainable programmes using their past experience.
Our main international programme, Spread Trees, Not AIDS, focuses on envrionmental sustainability in communities with high HIV prevalence in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Our preference goes towards individuals familiar with youth-focused programming. You will be working with our team to further develop the next phase of the “Spread Trees, Not AIDS” programme, and as well help to develop our newest international programme, BTru.
As the International Programmes Manager, you will develop and manage the strategic vision and objectives of the International team of LetsStopAIDS team and keep teams on-track to meet LetsStopAIDS strategic plan for 2019-2022. You will help to develop a long-term strategic plan and as well develop a forecasting budget to ensure the programmes are sustainable.
This role will require 10-14 hours per week (Co-op option available) and assistance with recruiting other volunteers to support project activities.
- Knowledge in developing and/or leading programmes geared toward youth engagement and development
- Preference towards individuals who have been involved with remote teams and have strong interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in international development is an asset
- Enthusiastic to join a volunteer movement that promotes youth empowerment and stigma reduction in relation to HIV infection
