Job Posting:  Informed Response Outreach Housing Navigator - 2 - 1 Year Contract PART TIME POSITIONS

As a result of active participation in a successful pilot program, The Core Area Informed Response program is being continued and these are newly created, 1 year part-time contract positions with potential for renewal. 

The Co-ordinated Informed Response Program is a caring and compassionate response that aims to support individuals who are street involved, sleeping rough, and urban camping in finding safe, alternative solutions focussed on housing.

As an Outreach Housing Navigator, meeting people where they are at, you will match individuals experiencing homelessness who are sleeping rough or urban camping with appropriate, alternative housing options to best meet their housing needs. You will establish and develop relationships with landlords and property owners as partners and assist individuals with applications and linking to resource supports in order to facilitate a move quickly into housing options.  Monitoring market trends and managing and adhering to guidelines for rent support programs is a key function of this role. Strong documentation and data collection practice helps to inform our program.  If you are passionate about London becoming a community in which every person thrives, this is the perfect position for you!

The two part-time positions will work a staggered schedule to cover 7 days a week.  Our compensation package includes a competitive wage of $24.72 hourly, plus 4% vacation pay. health care benefits and 3 weeks paid vacation.   

You will be a valuable member of our Co-ordinated Informed Response Outreach Team if you have some or all of the following:

  • Post-secondary education in social service or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience working individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Experience working with private market landlords, property managers and housing partners in London
  • Experience with the local, private housing market
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of Housing First with Support and Rapid Re-Housing principles
  • Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • First-Aid/CPR training
