FULL-TIME DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS (For our Community Residential Homes)

(35-40 hours/week: Consists of a rotation of days, evenings and alternating weekend shifts)

 

PART-TIME DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS (For our Community Residential Homes)

(16-34 hours/week: Consists of a rotation of days, evenings and alternating weekend shifts)

 

Various locations in OTTAWA & Surrounding Areas

We are looking for passionate Direct Support Professionals (Support Workers) to assist persons with developmental disabilities to find a satisfying and purposeful place in their community by enhancing their quality of life and promoting personal growth.

In this role, you will be supporting individuals who live in community residential homes (group homes/ apartments) where we provide 24/7 support.  This brings opportunities to foster community inclusion, assist with activities of daily living, promote the implementation of person-centered plans, and assist with aspects of personal care as needed.

We value flexibility in one’s schedule to meet our person-centered support needs.  Our schedules often include a rotation of days, evenings and working alternating weekends with occasional overnights.

Our homes are located throughout the Ottawa region so access to reliable transportation may be required to be considered for some of our opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 Months’ Experience.
  • Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field, is preferred;
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check;
  • Satisfactory 3-year Uncertified Driver’s Abstract;
  • Valid G Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.

Training/ Orientation (In class training)(Two Weeks)

Week 1: January 6th to January 10th, 2020

Week 2: January 13th to January 17th, 2020

 

Extended Option (if can’t meet above time-line) (2 month time-frame):

Training/ Orientation (In class training)(Two Weeks)

Week 1: February 3rd to February 7th, 2020

Week 2: February 10th to February 14, 2020
