About the Opportunity:

This role works closely with and supports the Fraser Valley fundraising team and contributes to support the Foundation in reaching its fundraising goals.

Reporting to the Development Officer, Surrey the responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Provide administrative support to the Fraser Valley fundraising staff currently located in both Surrey and Abbotsford
  • Coordinate and book internal and external meetings ensuring appropriate arrangements including booking meeting facilities, and ensuring all logistics are carried out for meetings including taking minutes as required
  • Draft correspondence and prepare or co-ordinate the preparation of various reports and briefings as required
  • Support the organization, planning and administration of Community Events in the Fraser valley
  • Provide assistance with donor engagement activity, including the preparation of briefing documents (information and research), as well as donor cultivation and stewardship activities
  • Attending events and representing the Foundation as appropriate
  • Enter, maintain, and query information related to donors, using the Foundation’s customer relationship management system, Raiser’s Edge
  • Prepare expense claims forms and verify monthly credit card and other charges for payment authorization
  • Maintain current filing systems
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of assigned projects

 

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution,
  • Three to five years related experience in administration, preferably working within fundraising, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Language fluency in Punjabi is a plus
  • A willingness to work beyond core work hours, as the occasional evening may be required
  • A willingness to travel to our offices in Surrey and Abbotsford as well as events throughout the Fraser Valley

  • Demonstrated organizational, time management and project coordination skills with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure with frequent interruptions
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a dynamic team setting and be considered a team player
  • Ability to work with a varied group of stakeholders and interact with donors using tact, diplomacy and discretion
  • Foster an environment that ensures donors have a meaningful experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, when required
  • Strong data analysis and proof-reading skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer skills: demonstrated advanced competence in computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook) and intermediate experience with Raiser’s Edge or another customer relationship management system

  • Must hold a clean BC drivers licence
