With over 7,000 members around the world, PDAC’s work centres on supporting a competitive and responsible mineral sector. The annual PDAC Convention is the world's premier international event for the minerals and mining industry. It has attracted up to 25,000 people from 135 countries in recent years, and will next be held March 3-6, 2024 in Toronto. The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive team player to join our membership team. This multi-faceted role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic work environment, and are dedicated to offering great customer experiences and building stronger relationships with our members and stakeholders. Reporting to the Manager of Member Engagement & Outreach, the Coordinator is an integral part of the membership team that assists with association/member communications, database work, website management, event planning and membership development strategy. As a frontline employee, this team member presents a positive and professional image of the organization to all members, visitors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Duties & responsibilities

Develop various member communications including renewal notices, PDAC News, website content, social media posts, scripts, etc.

Serve as first point of contact for queries from the general public regarding the PDAC Convention, membership and the Association

Increase member engagement through planning and promoting outreach events, member spotlights, member referral program, etc.

Assist with the development and execution of new initiatives to achieve membership goals and strategies such as a customized affinity program, member’s area on website, educational opportunities and more

Draft and review content for the website, including regular maintenance

Identify gaps and optimize workflows in the membership database, that includes generating membership reports, compiling statistics, regular updates and maintenance

Liaise with suppliers to develop marketing materials including membership cards/brochures, digital/print advertisements, etc.

Assist with planning and execution of all member-related activities at the annual PDAC Convention, including attendee engagement at the Membership Pavilion

Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and experience
-
Post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant field of study (office administration, business, communications, etc.) or a combination of equivalent education, job-related training and/or experience

Minimum 2-3 years recent and relevant administrative work experience

Previous event planning experience is an asset

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with association management systems (databases)

Proficient in MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Knowledge of project management tools such as Asana and/or website content management systems such as Sitefinity is an asset

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task, prioritize as necessary, and have strong attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy

Demonstrated skills and capabilities in analytical and critical thinking

The ability to work well independently and in a team environment

Accountable, ethical, and trustworthy; must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
The successful candidate will be required to attend the PDAC office 3 days/week and 2 days remotely. The PDAC office is located at 170 University Avenue, Suite 800, Toronto, Ontario.
