Salary range: $45,000 to $55,000 annually plus benefits package

We are in the process of recruiting a Development Coordinator - Major Gifts.  Reporting to the Director of Development - Major Gifts, the Development Coordinator - Major Gifts will work closely with members of the Philanthropy and leadership team to support in the coordination and administration of  the major giving program. This role will play a key role in supporting the team to reach its  fundraising objectives at an exciting time of growth, expansion and new program development. 


  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall major giving program;

  • Support the development and execution of online donor engagement programs, event planning and other major donor activities;

  • Coordinate the administration of  major gift pledge agreements and acknowledgement  letters, ensuring timely recognition of gifts and secure filing of information in the database;

  • Ensure integrity of data in  donor database by tracking  communication and event participation activities  between major gifts team and donors, updating donor database records and assisting with capturing information from donor calls and meetings in the database;

  •  Provide regular reporting and analysis on donor pipeline activity, funds raised, key performance indicators; 

  • Regularly liaise with Gift Processing and Database Coordinator to ensure appropriate gift processing and receipting of major gifts and capturing of major donor data for coding, tracking, reporting and analysis;

  • Conduct prospect research and prepare summary of findings for internal briefs and donor database;

  • Support grant proposal and reporting process as required;

  • Provide administrative support to major gifts team, such as meeting coordination and preparation of fundraising materials such as call briefing notes, information packages, letters, presentations, stewardship reports etc.;

  • Assist in handling general major donor inquiries  to maintain an excellent level of customer service and personalized donor attention;

  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;

  • Provide staff support for volunteer engagement and fundraising committees;

  • Undertake additional duties as required.


  • At least 1 to 3  years experience in fundraising and/or project management particularly in a non-profit organization;

  • Bachelor’s degree with preferred  specialization in women’s studies, international development, philanthropy / fundraising, business or a related field;

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency working with a database; ideally 2-3 years experience working with a Constituency Management System (CRM) such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge or any other CRM;

  • Technical knowledge of virtual tools and set-up of online platforms such as Zoom webinars, Facebook live etc;

  • Understanding of feminist issues, advocacy, movement building and/or funding environment facing women’s rights organizations in the global South is an asset;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Excellent skills in organization, planning and customer service orientation;

  • Ability to pivot very quickly according to the needs of the organization.

  • Bilingual French/ English considered an asset;
