EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Part-time Contract Position (3 days weekly)

Clinical and Counselling Psychologist

As a fully accredited community health centre, Anishnawbe Health Toronto offers access to health care practitioners from many disciplines including Traditional Healers, Elders and Medicine People. We seek a qualified candidate to fill the position of Clinical and Counselling Psychologist. This is a unique opportunity to work in a culture-based environment providing holistic health care.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team, complete psychological assessments and diagnose psychological disorders
  • Provide a variety of evidence-based psychological interventions and treatment modalities within the context of individual, family and/or group therapy
  • Offer consultation to team members (counsellors, social workers, psychiatrists and Traditional Healers) and supervision to other treating clinicians (counsellors, social workers) on complex treatment cases and ethical dilemmas
  • Assist with program development and evaluation, sit on committees and support research projects, as required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate degree in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology
  • 2 years’ experience with mental health counselling, assessment and case management
  • Experience or understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal Peoples in an urban context
  • Current membership with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
