Seeking Board of Directors Members

Ontario Track 3 Ski Association is an inclusive volunteer, non-profit charitable organization that teaches children and youth with disabilities alpine snow sports. The name “Track 3” comes from the three tracks left in the snow by an amputee skiing with one ski and two outriggers. Ontario Track 3 began at a single Collingwood location assisting a small number of young amputees and has since grown to a provincial registered charity with11 host locations and more than a dozen programs across Ontario. We help children and youth each year with a wide variety of cognitive and physical disabilities. 

Our Board of Directors

The Track 3 Board of Directors is comprised of a group of leaders from a variety of diverse backgrounds and professional sectors dedicated to the organization's mission.

Our Board works collaboratively to champion the importance of exceptional board leadership.  In addition to the standard roles and responsibilities of a board member, our board members are active advocates and ambassadors for the Track 3 organization.

We are currently seeking  several new board members to join our Board of Directors as of October 2020.

Position Description

  • Work with staff, volunteer groups and other board members to develop and implement the organization's strategic plan

  • Review and approve Track 3’s annual budget, audit reports and material business decisions as well as be informed of, and meet all legal and fiduciary responsibilities

  • Discuss and vote on important issues pertaining to the governance of the organization, including strategic focus in the form of short and long-term goals

  • Lend experience and expertise by actively participating in meetings and at least one committee such as programming, finance, communications, equipment or fundraising

  • Attend and participate in monthly board meetings in additional to the Annual General Meeting

  • Support and participate in Track 3 fundraising events as well as serve as an Ambassador representing the organization in related activities

Please note that serving on the board is a volunteer commitment.  Board terms are 3 years and the time commitment is approximately 5-15 hours per month.

While we welcome applicants from all experiences and backgrounds. The ideal candidate should possess a passion to help attract, inspire supporters and volunteers to serve our amazing athletes and their families. Experience with one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:  finance, event planning, fund raising, communications/public relations or grant development.
