The Foundation

The Catherine Donnelly Foundation is a progressive, dynamic national granting foundation, created in 2003 by the Sisters of Service, a Catholic religious community, to promote positive social change in Canada.  The CDF supports and collaborates with social change groups in Canada by providing grants and partnering with charities and grassroots organizations across Canada to address issues and work toward justice in our priority areas of Housing, Adult Education and the Environment. We invest our capital in programs that respect and/or promote our goals.  The Foundation is also committed to impact investment.

The Foundation supports bold and innovative initiatives that advocate and pioneer new strategies to advance the interests of those most marginalized in our society and/or that further ecological justice. For more information on the Catherine Donnelly Foundation visit:

The CDF board, staff and grantees are people of any religious faith, or no specific faith.

Please see for more information about who we are, our history, and the programs and projects we fund.
