Founded in 2007, The Suspicious Fish Creative Literacy and Arts program is a registered non-profit organization, primarily operating in the borough of Verdun.
Our mission is built on the belief that community can be strengthened through improving all manner of literacy skills and the art of storytelling. In the spirit of acceptance and encouragement, community members are given the opportunity to express themselves through creative writing mediums such as short story writing and development, scriptwriting and film production. While objectively guiding the growth of the participants’ narratives and exploring their creative talents, the program focuses on skills and community objectives that aim to reach the community at large.
In the scope of the twelve years that Suspicious Fish has been in operation, the program has produced nine anthologies, numerous short films, various art projects, and has been involved in a number of community events and initiatives.
