Future Black Female (FBF) is a not-for-profit organization providing services to Black female youth, ages 16-22 around the world. We are driven by the mission to increase access to opportunities that enable Black female youth to participate in social, political, and economical opportunities empowered by strong community networks, skills advancement, and rights-based advocacy. Our first project, launched in April 2019, was a global essay contest: The Future is Black Female. Contestants shared their lived experiences as Black female youth in diverse communities and cultures reiterating the universal need for a community-empowered Black female youth population. As such, over the next five years we intend to be active in Canada, Ireland, and parts of Africa, where we will run grassroots, provincial, national, and international camps that offer skills and community development training to Black girls and young women.
If you have a commitment to female empowerment, cultural advocacy, and gender equality in your professional and personal life and the following qualifications, we are looking for you. We invite you to work with us on our Board of Directors where we are seeking members with knowledge and expertise in the areas of:
- Public Relations and Communications
- Financial Accounting
- Journalism and Publishing
- Marketing and Advertising
- Law, Policies and Governance
- Data Management
- Digital Literacy
- Have board experience.
